At first it was decided that the tape be exhibited for two weeks, but the study has extended this period and finally closed its display time with revenues of $ 180 million outside the United States.

The film with the last trials of Michael Jackson, "This is it", which left the boards, has raised more than $ 250 million worldwide, the studio Sony Pictures.

The film, which came to theaters in late October, is rebuilding for nearly two hours the show that wanted to offer the artist in the 50 concerts in London was due to last summer (northern hemisphere) that were truncated by his sudden death on June 25.

The film was created from more than 100 hours of footage of the tests conducted in Los Angeles between March and June this year.

At first it was decided that the tape be exhibited for two weeks, but the study has extended this period and finally closed its display time with revenues of $ 180 million outside the United States.

Thursday night was the last occasion on which viewers could see the film in theaters in U.S. and Canada, a country in which the work directed by Kenny Ortega has accumulated $ 72 million, according to the specialized website Boxofficemojo.com.

Its release on DVD and Blu-Ray will arrive on January 26 and will include an hour of bonus material and music videos with alternative endings to songs like "Smooth Criminal" or "Thriller."

"This is it" not paid at the box office as the studio had hoped, as Sony Pictures wanted to raise about $ 600 million, which would have placed the production among the five highest-grossing of the year so far.

This is it extends 3 weeks!

The documentary about the singer's final days will stay in cinemas for an additional one to three weeks, after earning £101m worldwide in its first few days. After the hype, the queues, the reviews and – above all – the ticket sales, Sony Pictures has extended the run of This Is It, the documentary about Michael Jackson's final rehearsals. The film will stay in cinemas for an additional one to three weeks, beyond the initial two-week showing. The makers of This Is It had originally scheduled a theatrical run of just two weeks, marketing it as a brief worldwide event. Due to the film's success, these plans have changed – Sony have extended the movie's run for three weeks in the US, and one to three weeks in other countries, making This Is It more like ... every other movie. "He's just loved everywhere on the planet," Rory Bruer, head of distribution for Sony, told the Associated Press. Then again, Sony's decision might be motivated not by the film's success, but by their relative disappointment. In the weeks leading up to This Is It's release, a spokesperson for co-producers AEG told Deadline Hollywood that the film would earn $250m (£152m) in just five days. Even dismissing this astronomical prediction, producers clearly hoped This Is It would out-perform last year's Miley Cyrus vehicle, Best of Both Worlds. Although this has been the case worldwide, Best of Both Worlds is still the opening weekend record-holder in the US, despite screening in fewer theatres. However, there is little doubt that This Is It was a sound investment for Sony Pictures. The company reportedly paid $60m (£36.6m) for distribution rights to the documentary, which follows Jackson's preparations for a 50-night residency at London's O2 Arena. Jackson died on 25 June, less than three weeks before the concerts were to begin. (Source: Guardian.)

With its debut in Los Angeles prevailed a mixture of sadness and joy The film only spend two weeks in theaters and is expected to be a success

In a sad but triumphant atmosphere, fans, friends and colleagues of Michael Jackson on Tuesday attended the world premiere of what came to be his farewell to the world of entertainment: a film that captures the rehearsals for the concert series that never came to give.

From exhibitions between afternoon and midnight screenings in North America in the early morning and midday in Europe, Asia and elsewhere, the documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It" came simultaneously to everyone in the biggest opening in history a musical.

In the presentation in Los Angeles, near the stadium where they filmed most of the test material, saw celebrities such as Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Love Hewitt and the founder of Motown Records, Berry Gordy Jr.

Michael Bearden, music director and associate producer of director Kenny Ortega, said making the film was the project more "bittersweet" for his career, but he was happy that "the world will see the triumph" of the deceased musician.

"I know he would have liked," Bearden said. "Kenny Ortega and I had in mind Michael in every aspect of the film. We were with him every day for at least the last three or four months of his life, so we know he would have liked what we did. "

The film opens in 99 countries between Tuesday and Wednesday and then come to a total of 110 nations for the weekend. The distributor Sony, which paid $ 60 million for the rights, will put 15 thousand copies in circulation.

The simultaneous projections worldwide focused on the celebrity-filled premiere at the Nokia Theater, across from Staples Center, where Jackson made many of his essays and where they conducted a massive act of homage after his death.

Johnny Kuhn, a fan of San Pedro, California, who won tickets to the premiere, said he hoped the film would be "happy and sad."

"We've lost a legend," he said.

Many fans lined up for days to buy tickets for the first screenings in a new cinema complex on the campus, which exhibit in its 14 rooms.

The film, edited from more than 100 hours of footage of the trials, showing a keen "King of Pop" meticulously creating and interpreting their movements some of its greatest successes.

"This is it, 111 minutes, will be shown for a limited period, giving the film some of the exclusivity that would have been canceled Jackson concert series in London.

"We believe 16 days is good. It is a kind of special event you want to frame a special way, "said Rory Bruer, Sony head of distribution.

Jackson died on June 25 at age 50. The county coroner of Los Angeles has ruled his death a manslaughter, caused primarily by the powerful anesthetic propofol and other sedatives. Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray has not been charged with a crime but is the focus of the police investigation.

The 50 dates back to Jackson in the O2 arena in London have begun in July.

The portrait of Michael Jackson shows him smilling in a jacket from his “Thriller” era, including red and yellow hints in his hair.

Deputy chairman Brett Gorvy told the Associated Press that the seller of the Michael Jackson portrait requested to remain anonymous, and is a private collector from New York who purchased the painting from the Andy Warhol Foundation in the 1990s.

The Michael Jackson portrait by Andy Warhol is one of 47 lots being auctioned, including two additional Warhol pieces.

In August, a similar portrait of Michael Jackson by Warhol was sold by a New York Art Gallery to an anonymous buyer. Although the gallery would not disclose the exact price, they did say that it was more than one million dollars.

VH1 Save the Music Foundation will host a charity auction that includes pieces of Michael Jackson memorabilia, such as signed records.

Michael Jackson Auction Cancelled

The VH1 Save the Music Foundation charity auction comes after Richard Lapointe, an angry bidder claiming to have placed the highest bids on 170 items in a canceled Michael Jackson auction, demanded at least $5,000,000 to ease his “pain and suffering.” Richard Lapointe claims in the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, that he was the only (and therefore the highest) bidder on 82 items during the Michael Jackson auction and “may have been the highest bidder on not less than 88 additional items.”

Julien’s Auction House, the company that organized the massive Michael Jackson auction intended to take place last April, is being sued, along with Michael Jackson’s estate.

The auction was eventually cancelled after Julien’s Auction House and Michael Jackson disagreeded over the auction.

AllGood Entertainment, Inc., a promoter of live concert events, has filed yet another suit against the Michael Jackson Estate, demanding part of the profits from Michael Jackson’s upcoming movie “This Is It,” along with revenues from the Sony catalog. AllGood Entertainment is demanding over $300 million.

AllGood Entertainment and Previous Litigation involving Michael Jackson
In June 2009, AllGood Entertainment sued Michael Jackson for $40 million, claiming that Michael Jackson, through his manager Frank DiLeo, had agreed to create a single and a $30 million reunion concert with The Jackson 5, as well as sister Janet Jackson.

According to AllGood Entertainment, the alleged contractual agreement prevented Michael Jackson from performing elsewhere before the reunion concert and for a three month period afterwards.

AllGood Entertainment's Amended Suit Against Michael Jackson Estate.

In spite of the fact thay AllGood Entertainment's previous suit demanded $40 million, the concert promoter is now seeking a cool $ 300 million.

AllGood Entertainment recently filed an amended lawsuit in federal court, which now includes the Michael Jackson Estate. The original defendants are still named in the amended suit.

AllGood Entertainment claims that its demands have increased more than seven fold, swelling from $40 to $300 million, because the concert promoter never anticipated that Michael Jackson would die and that a movie would be made, which now ups the ante.

AllGood Entertainment is also suing John Branca and John McClain, co-special administrators of the Michael Jackson Estate.

Since Michael Jackson’s death in June, Lisa Marie Presley has found comfort in her current beau, Michael Lockwood, to help her through this tragic moment.

Following Michael Jackson’s death, Lisa Marie Presley said, “I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible. I am heartbroken. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me.”
Lisa Marie Presley thanks current husband Michael Lockwood

Lisa Marie Presley acknowledges that she struggled with the recent death of ex-husband Michael Jackson, though credits her current husband, Michael Lockwood, for standing by her side and helping her get through this tragic moment.

Lisa Marie Presley told Britain’s Hello magazine, “He has cried with me, he has left me alone to cry if that’s what I needed. I have never met a more selfless and supportive person.”

In an effort to stay positive, Lisa Marie Presley has also found peace in her 12-month old twins with Michael Lockwood, insisting little Finley and Harper gave her comfort in those sad days.

Lisa Marie Presley adds, “They both have such a sweetness about them that it breaks (my) heart.”

Kenny Ortega, Michael Jackson’s creative partner, director of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” concerts and one of the producers of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” movie, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show today, October 16th.

Kenny Ortega is a world-class choreographer, and was the mastermind behind the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Madonna’s “Material Girl” music video, Patrick Swayze sexy moves in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing and was the director of High School Muscial.
Oprah on “This Is It” – Kenny Ortega’s Interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show

Oprah Winfrey, who got a sneak preview of 12 minutes of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” film, said that the movie was “magical.” The 12 minutes of “This Is It” was delivered by armed security guards, who stood by as Oprah Winfrey viewed the footage, and then left with “This Is It” in hand.

Oprah Winfrey mentioned that Michael Jackson appeared skinny, but was impressed with his obvious energy and excitement about the performance. Oprah Winfrey also said that while viewing she thought, “Wow! What a loss!”
“This Is It” Film Production – Kenny Ortega’s Interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show

When Oprah Winfrey asked Kenny Ortega how he handled the death of Michael Jackson, Kenny Ortega said, “I had the hardest time. I had just seen him 14 hours earlier.” Kenny Ortega added that he would tell Michael Jackson that he loved him and that Michael Jackson would respond “I love you more.”

Kenny Ortega said that cutting the film, making the film, and having the entire group together helped to create a supportive situation. Kenny Ortega felt lucky to have the opportunity to be there with the material, which gave a greater value to the history that he shared with the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Oprah Winfrey asked Kenny Ortega if he had been able to process the fact that Michael Jackson is gone. Kenny Ortega responded, “Little bits, he’s so much alive for me still, thank God.”

Kenny Ortega added that Michael Jackson is so present in the film that viewers will almost forget that he’s no longer with us.

Kenny Ortega told Oprah Winfrey how Michael Jackson would call him at 3 a.m. to dicuss the upcoming concert, saying, “We need fireflies!” Kenny Ortega compared Michael Jackson to a firefly because he shines from the inside out.

The Oprah Winfrey show included exclusive clips from Michael Jackson’s rehearsals, including for the song “The Way You Make Me Feel.”

Kenny Ortega told Oprah Winfrey that they started rehearsing in late April, and started physical rehearsals at The Forum and The Staples Center in Los Angeles in May and June. Michael Jackson was about 8 days from London, where they would conduct the final rehearsals before the tour.
Kenny Ortega on Michael Jackson’s Weight – Kenny Ortega’s Interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show

After watching some more footage from “This Is It,” Oprah Winfrey asked Kenny Ortega if he was concerned about Michael Jackson’s weight.

Kenny Ortega said that they looked after him, stressing that the entire crew was a family with a refrigerator full of drinks and healthy food.

Kenny Ortega added that he saw no hint of drug use, and that he saw fatigue at time, due to his sleepless nights, but that Michael Jackson always insisted that he felt good, working on the record, being a father, brainstorming about the performance.
This Is It Choreography – Kenny Ortega’s Interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show

Although Travis Pane and Michael Jackson were the primary choreographers, Kenny Ortega played a large role, calling them “The Three Muskateers” or “The Three Stooges.” Kenny Ortega added that Michael Jackson was an improvisational genius.

All the dancers were inspired by Michael Jackson, and were participating in what they had always dreamed of. Kenny Ortega said that the dancers always felt special when Michael Jackson looked their way.

Michael Jackson was constantly adding to the performance, and with the budget already surpassing $24 million, Randy Phillips said, “I was ready to jump off the balcony of my office. We went and met with Michael, and [director] Kenny [Ortega] said, ‘Michael, you’ve got to stop. We’ve got an incredible show, we don’t need any more vignettes.’ Michael said, ‘But Kenny, God channels this through me at night. I can’t sleep because I’m so supercharged.’ Kenny said, ‘But Michael, we have to finish. Can’t God take a vacation?’ Without missing a beat, Michael said, ‘You don’t understand — if I’m not there to receive these ideas, God might give them to Prince.’ ”

Kenny Ortega also mentioned that Michael Jackson greatly admired Prince, who recently spoke about Michael Jackson after a concert at the Gran Palais.

Yesterday at 08:00 of Califonia, United States revealed the song "This is it" where you see a new side of Michael Jackson, very romantic. Something so said the letter:

" This is it, here I stand
I'm the light of the world, I feel grand
Got this love I can feel
And yes I know for sure it is real

And it feels as though I've seen your face a thousand times
And you said you really know me too yourself
And I know that you have got addicted with your eyes
But you say you gonna live it for yourself.

I never heard a single word about you
Falling in love was not my plan
I never thought that I would be your lover
C'mon baby, just understand "
